Columbia River Gorge – Bonneville Fish Hatchery

Bonneville Fish Hatchery

This a great place to stop while traveling the Columbia River Gorge with the family. You and your family will get a chance to see the inner workings of Bonneville Fish Hatchery built in 1909.

Make sure that you take some quarters to purchase fish food and feed the trout in the trout ponds. The money raised from selling fish food helps to pay for maintenance of the beautiful grounds around the hatchery.

Don’t miss the Sturgeon pond! The Sturgeon pond boasts Herman the Sturgeon who is approximately 10’ long, 425 pounds and over 60 years old.

While you are visiting the hatchery make sure you also visit Bonneville Dam
