Columbia River Maritime Museum
The Columbia River Maritime Museum In Astoria Oregon was founded in 1962. The museum houses many maritime exhibits from around the northwest. It is designated the official state maritime museum of Oregon.
Exhibits include a lightvessel that visitors are allowed to tour and learn about how the vessel assisted navigation of other vessels. Nearby there is also a Coast Guard cutter that is often in port and visible for photos and viewing at a distance. This is a great place to take the kids as they have many exhibits that are hands-on and allow physical interaction.
