Shoshone Falls Park:
Shoshone Falls sometimes referred to as “the Niagara of the West” at 212 feet high are actually 45 feet taller than Niagra Falls. The water flows over a rim nearly 1000 feet wide. The falls are part of the Snake River located approximately 3 miles northeast of the city of Twin Falls Idaho. The best view is in the spring of the year when water flows are at their highest levels due to spring run-off from the Rocky Mountains.
Before dams on the river systems, the falls created the natural barrier that formed the upper limit of the fish migration in the Snake River, causing the area to be used heavily as a fishing and trading place for Native Americans.
