Smoked Bratwurst Sauerkraut & Onions

These Bratwurst are absolutely delicious! They never last long in my home. I highly recommend this recipe.


Beer Bath:

4 – 12 ounce cans of beer
1 – Large onion Diced
2 – Teaspoons red pepper flakes
1 – teaspoon garlic powder
1 – teaspoon salt
1/2 – teaspoon pepper


1 – 15 oz Can Sauerkraut
10 – Bratwurst
Hot Dog Buns


Combine beer and seasonings in a container large enough to fit marinade and brats.(Do not add sauerkraut yet)
Stir beer and seasonings until combined.
Add brats cover and put in the fridge overnight.
Remove brats from marinade (retain marinade) and smoke on the smoker for 2 hours at 225 degrees.
Take marinade and add sauerkraut boil for 30 minutes. Use a colander to drain the sauerkraut mixture.
Combine Bun, Brat, and Sauerkraut Mixture.
